Info of cow killer

The panda ant is neither a panda nor an ant; it’s actually a wingless wasp that is found in Chile. Though it does look adorable and I do want to hug it, members of the Mutillidae family have earned the name “cow killer” because of their incredibly painful sting.

Winchester Mystery House

This is a massive mansion built by Sarah Winchester in the 18th century. It is said that the lady was disturbed after the death of her husband and only child. She turned to spirits for solace who told her that her family was cursed and recommended her to build a house on this property, or even she would die. She followed the advice and built the Winchester Mansion.

The design of the mansion is very peculiar and odd. It has a bell tower, which Sarah would ring every night to summon the spirits. It also has a special room, which Sarah used to communicate with the spirits. Visitors have reported of murmuring voices and strange spots of lights.

An idea that can create glow of flower under uv light........

Creating flowers that glow under UV light is really simple! Place cut flowers into highlighter fluid. As the flower draws the liquid up, the veins of the petals and leaves become very distinct when viewed under a black light. This is just like dying white carnations with food coloring, except it’s a hell of a lot more fun.

feeling bored Don't worry!

Feeling bored? Don't worry, I've got your Thursday evening sorted. Watch a dolphin masturbating with a decapitated fish:http://bit.ly/175St7m (the video is at the bottom of the article).

Believe it or not, this is actually pretty common. Well, not the dead fish part. Masturbation itself can be observed throughout the animal kingdom, in penguins, horses, dogs, porcupines and many more

Neuronal dendride is capable of performing computations individually

There are an estimated 100 billions neurons in brain, and there could be as many as one billion dendrites to connect them and facillitate communications. Each neuron can be connected to as many as 1000 other neurons. While it was previosly believed that dendrites merely pass the information along ,a new study has shown that the electrical signals associated with processing visual information can be found in dendrites themselves.

Smartphone can be used as a digital microscope capable of 175 times magnification

It only takes around 30 minutes to assemble the hardware store materials into a microscope stands for a smartphone. This could be a viable alternative for science teacher who don't have the resources to buy microscope for the classroom.

Scientists have found that bees underwent massive exictintion at the same time as land dinosaurs.

Scientists have documented a widespread exictintion in bee group xylocopinae(carenpenters bees)that occurs 65 million years ago, at the same time as event that caused exictintion of land dinosaurs and many flowering plants.Understanding many past bee exictintion will hopefully shed some on the current decline in bees exictintion.

How tonic water fluoresces under UV lights

It contains quinine, which has a high fluorescent quantum yield."Quantum yield"measures how efficiently absorved light creates an optical effect. In fact,it has such a high yield it will even glow under regular sunlight.A substance such as quinine becomes fluorescent when absorbed lights photons realesed photons of another wavelength. When the absorbed photons are in the ultraviolet range and the triggered emission is in the visible spectrum,a substance will glow under black light.

Cleaning fruits make it chemical free.

Fill with water, add one cup of vinegar, and stir, add a fruit, and soak for 10 minutes.Water will be dirty and fruit will be sparkle with no wax,or dirty film.Great for barriers too as it keeps them for molding.Do this with strawberries, and they last for weeks!
